Changing Mode Settings
The TI-84 Plus CE allows you to customize various mode settings to suit your calculation needs. This section explains how to access and change these settings.
Accessing the Mode Menu
To access the MODE settings on your TI-84 Plus CE:
- Press the [MODE] key on your calculator.
- The MODE menu will appear, displaying the current settings.
- Use the arrow keys to navigate between different settings.
- Press [ENTER] to select a setting.
- Press [CLEAR] or [2nd][QUIT] to exit the MODE menu and return to the home screen.

Changing Settings
To change a mode setting:
- Use the arrow keys to highlight the setting you want to change.
- Press [ENTER] to select it.
- The cursor will move to the next setting automatically.
- Once you've made all desired changes, press [2nd][MODE] (QUIT) or [CLEAR] to exit.
The new settings will take effect immediately and will remain in effect until you change them again, even if you turn off the calculator.
Default Settings
The default mode settings for the TI-84 Plus CE are:
- Normal notation
- Float decimal
- Radian angle measure
- Function graphing
- Connected plotting
- Sequential graphing order
- Full screen
- GridOff
- AxesOn
- MathPrint display format
Resetting All Modes
To reset all mode settings to their default values:
- Press [2nd][MEM] to access the memory menu.
- Select "Reset..." by pressing [7].
- Select "All RAM..." by pressing [1].
- Press [2] to choose Reset.
- When prompted "Reset", press [1] for Yes.
Warning: This will erase all data and programs stored in RAM. Use with caution!
Common Mode Changes
For Trigonometry
- Change from Radian to Degree mode
- Set display to Normal and Float
For Statistical Analysis
- Set display to Normal and Float
- Set Stat Diagnostics to On
